A much loved lake, where you can see gardens, villas and enjoy unique views.

COMO

The town Como from which the lake has taken the name from Lake Lario to Lake Como.
Worth a visit the Didactic Silk Museum where you can discover the testimonies of the textile tradition  production in all the area of the Lake.
A succession of splendid villas dot the shores of the lake, a holiday destination of the Lombard nobility since the 16th century. Como is also considered the home of Italian artistic and architectural rationalism.
Here are many examples of modern European architecture such as the Novocomum, the Giuliani Frigerio house, the Monument to the Fallen and the former Fascio House, all designed by the Italian architect Giuseppe Terragni.

CERNOBBIO

The 16th-century Villa dEste, now famous Hotel,  was used by Alfred Hitchcock as the location of his famous film Garden of Pleasure.”

Also worth seeing is Villa Erba, one of the villas on Lake Como, built at the end of the 18th-century, took over the name of the family Erba Luigi ,brother Carlo who was the owner of the Erba pharmaceutical company.

MOLTRASIO

Small but very pretty village is famous above all for its beautiful villas made of a grey building stone typical of the area.
The most important is Villa Passalacqua located on the top of a large terraced park, with a fantastic view of the lake.

OSSUCCIO

Characterized by the large expanse of olive trees and the massive presence of churches inscribed in the area of the Sacro Monte di Ossuccio with the Madonna del Soccorso is one of the nine Sacro Monti pre-Alpine recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site in 2003.

LENNO

Building of great beauty and importance is the renowned villa of Balbianello, location also used for filming, among the most famous movies Star Wars and Agent 007 Casino Royale.

TREMEZZO

Tremezzo is known as the village of gardens and the Grand Hotel Tremezzo.  Villa Carlotta is famous for her lovely enchanting botanic garden and the museum, embellished with works by Canova.
On the road side the little characteristic restaurant and bars.

Parco Mayer was a perfect location for Dolce & Gabbana fashion show.

BELLAGIO

At the meeting point of the three branches of the lake stands Bellagio, the splendid village that fascinates with its beautiful buildings, their well-kept gardens, the characteristic alleyways with shops, cafes restaurants & bars.
One of the most famous is the seventeenth-century Villa Serbelloni, which has become a symbol of Bellagio. Also worth mentioning is Villa Melzi, famous for its botanical park.

The small fishing village of Varenna is not to be missed, if you love walking you can follow in the footsteps of the ancient traders.
See Villa Monastero with its magnificent botanical garden, this villa takes its name from the ancient convent of nuns of the Cistercian order.
